Catagory A1, A2 and A Direct Access Scheme (DAS)
A Full license
Commonly called the DAS - Direct Access Scheme.
Once you have completed your Theory, Module 1 and Module 2 assessments you are free to ride any size motorcycle.
You must be aged 24 or just over (I do include 25-80 in the just over category).
A1 the Lightweight
Allows you to ride upto a 125cc 11kW motorcycle with full licence entitlements.
Known as the lightweight license.
You must be aged 17 years or over.
A2 Medium Size
Allows you to ride medium size motorcycles upto 35kW power output. Mostly 600cc and larger with original power restricted to the A2 specification.
You must be aged 19 years or over.
